Summary: Asha survived BeiTech’s initial assault and has been working undercover with the hopelessly outmatched resistance ever since. The last thing she expected to worry about was her ex-boyfriend, Rhys Lindstrom who just landed planetside. Is he her way out – or guarantee she never gets off this frozen rock alive?
The long awaited ending for this series and I could not wait myself to absorb myself into it. Like the previous two instalments, this one was introducing new characters, perhaps a new couple. When I read about Rhys, my mind went on to Rhysand from the ACOTAR series. Nah, I haven’t yet that series, however, I have seen quite lots of this name in the timeline. Sometimes I wonder… well back to the Rhys here and Asha.
I am not sure what I want to say of these couple in the series. Their story was a bit too rushed, in my opinion, not so much chemistry like the one with Helena and Nik, at the least. However, let’s not focus on the couple because there were so many things happening in this book! Starting with the fact that there were still some people apparently survive the first attack, although they didn’t manage to get into the ships. Then another rebellion! And, oh my, did I also mention about mass murders?
I don’t want to spoil, not at the least, but I could only say to prepare your heart. Some stuffs are not what they seemed apparently. Even when I thought I had guessed it (but I could say some guesses were right, kudos to myself!), Amie and Jay have to say, ‘No, you haven’t guessed it right.’.
If you miss our grey character, AIDAN, do not fear for he will have the most important role in this story. Yes, along with the others obviously, but my heart (mein, my heart) was set into AIDAN. He’s crazy and mad, like me, and therefore I could relate to him more than others.
The ending could be done better, obviously, but perhaps some little happiness at the end would do harm to no one right? And besides, after all the journey, one needs a cup of tea to celebrate. That’s what they needed and that’s what they should have.
My journey of reading this book is out of words, I love everything about this, and therefore this series will be one of those I will always recommend. One of those I will say, ‘Grab this if you want to have a company at your tea time.’
Alas, now it’s time for me to part with Kady and the crew’s journey. Time to move to a new journey. Which one shall it be this time?
